[11/04 15:10] On the morning of the 4th day everybody was busy at the launch site.
Today's task in the morning was "Fly in," in which the pilots fly in to the launch site from outside points. Based on the data given by the operation office and judging from their own investigation, each team left the launch site to find a point from which to head for the launch site.
In case of the "Fly in" task, the launch site must be left open.
As a result the Balloon Fantasia by the shaped balloons was delayed. Then the staff members at the Fantasia said, "What a shame! We wanted the visitors to see our shaped balloons!"
Then it was decided by the operation office that they can lift up if they can take off early enough before the competition balloons approach the launch site. As a result some shaped balloons could rise up.
After that motor paragliders made a demonstration flight at the launch site till the competition balloons came in.
We hope all the spectators enjoyed these flights tll the competitive balloons landed on the launch site.
On the other hand, the competitions balloons had been seen around 8 o'clock up in the sky but they would not come to land on the launch site. Probably they couldn't catch the wind. After all it was about 8:35 when they finally began to fly in. Some balloons could be very close to their targets but others couldn't come back in time for the deadline.
At 9:30 a loud horn was blown to tell the remaining pilots not to fly in to their targets. Then observers began to measure the distance between the target and the fallen marker.
They did their job with great care.
When the measuring was over and all the markers were collected, all the remaining shaped balloons flew up into the sky, to great delight of the spectators. The operation office allowed the spectators to come into the launch site, which also delighted them.
At 11:00 a.m. the bike trial by the expert riders of Honda Motors demonstrated their thrilling technique, and all the spectators cheered and clapped their hands in applause.
