Hot Air Balloon HONDA Grand Prix
Hot Air Balloon HONDA grand Prix was started in 1993 and was the culmination of the other 4 national competitions. It was initially called the Hot Air Balloon Japan Grand Prix. However, in 1995 HONDA became the sponsor of the competition and it was renamed Hot Air Balloon HONDA Grand Prix.
In 1998, a year after the second International Championships was held in Saga, the Hot Air Balloon HONDA Grand Prix started internationally, including Japanese teams. At the same time the name Hot Air Balloon Japan Grand Prix was changed to Hot Air Balloon Japan HONDA Grand Prix.
Here in Saga, the first national championships were held in 1993 and also the Hot Air Balloon World HONDA Grand Prix was held in 2001. In 2006, in spite of its popularity, the Hot Air Balloon World HONDA Grand Prix came to an end. And in 2007 the Hot Air Balloon Japan HONDA Grand Prix was again renamed to the Hot Air Balloon HONDA Grand Prix.
